Job Summary:
We are seeking a WLAN Test Engineer with Python expertise to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) testing, automation using Python, and validating wireless networking products. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test solutions to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of WLAN devices and solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for WLAN/Wi-Fi products.
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using Python.
- Perform functional, regression, interoperability, performance, and stability testing for wireless networking devices.
- Validate WLAN features across various IEEE 802.11 standards (a/b/g/n/ac/ax).
- Execute end-to-end testing of wireless access points, routers, gateways, and client devices.
- Analyze logs, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
- Perform protocol-level analysis using packet capture tools such as Wireshark.
- Validate roaming, security, authentication, throughput, and QoS features.
- Automate repetitive testing tasks to improve test efficiency and coverage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, and Product Management.
- Prepare test reports, document defects, and provide quality metrics.
Required Skills:
- 37 years of experience in WLAN/Wi-Fi testing.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Good understanding of IEEE 802.11 wireless standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax).
- Hands-on experience with WLAN testing methodologies and automation.
- Experience with packet analysis tools such as Wireshark.
- Knowledge of wireless security protocols including WPA2, WPA3, 802.1X, and EAP.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, NAT, and IPv4/IPv6.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with automation frameworks and test management tools.
- Strong debugging and analytical skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
