In my previous role as a medical billing executive, I was handling the billing of US American healthcare companies (cmc and crmc), their modern revenue cycle management from where I was assigned duties of maintaining patient files, medical records and contact database. The first step in medical billing is patient registration, next is insurance information, pre-authorization and verification. I usually follow this up with the charge entries according to the specialty, payment of postings and reconciliation of payments.

In some cases, we may receive a rejection or denial. Then, we make the required changes and re-bill accordingly. I always follow up with the accounting department to verify the receivables and ensure that no payments are missing.
