• Designed and simulated four antenna variants (external and PCB-integrated 4G; external and PCB-integrated BLE) in CST Microwave Studio, screening 25+ design iterations informed by a literature survey of 20+ published antenna topologies.
• Defined PCB material and stack-up specification for antenna fabrication and delivered a fabricated external 4G antenna (135 x 39 mm) meeting VSWR <=2 and 50Ω impedance targets across LTE-FDD/TDD, WCDMA, and GSM bands (700 MHz - 2.7 GHz).
• Benchmarked the fabricated antenna against the industry-standard Taoglas GSA.8822.B reference antenna, achieving broader impedance matching across the full frequency range and 4 dBi peak gain versus 3 dBi for the reference.
• Designed BLE antennas (external dipole and PCB-integrated PIFA) for the 2.4- 2.5 GHz and 5.1-5.9 GHz bands, achieving return loss better than -10 dB through iterative impedance-matching and simulation.
• Analyzed antenna performance and electromagnetic coupling in the presence of metallic components, PCB structures, enclosures, and surrounding mechanical structures, and optimized antenna placement/design to mitigate detuning and performance degradation.
