• Designed and fabricated a full hardware prototype of an Isolated Bidirectional Dual Active Bridge (DAB) DC-DC converter for microgrid applications, managing power transfer rated for 250W under 90V input / 120V output conditions.
• Calculated, sized, and manually wound core magnetic components including a 50kHz High-Frequency Transformer (HFT) and a standalone 65.82µH leakage inductor on an EE42 ferrite core, mathematically optimized to minimize peak currents and winding skin-depth losses.
• Programmed high-precision real-time digital control loop routines executing Single Phase Shift (SPS) modulation on a TI TMS320F28379D microcontroller, incorporating a mandatory 400ns hardware dead-time protection and a fixed 54° phase-shifting window between primary and secondary H-bridges.
• Engineered auxiliary multi-channel isolated DC power cards (15V/5V) and an 8-switch isolated gate drive circuit using high-speed 6N137 optocouplers and MIC4451 driver ICs, validating complete open/closed-loop performance matrices and dynamic switching transients via Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO).
