During my internship tenure, I assisted one of the PhD scholars on the project 'DESIGN AND SYNTHESIS OF DIKETOPYRROLOPYRROLE (DPP) BASED CONJUGATED POLYMERS FOR THEIR OPTOELECTRONIC APPLICATIONS'. Here, I worked on the synthesis of DPP monomers and polymers and their purification using Column Chromatography. The synthesised molecules were characterised using 1H NMR and 13C NMR.
The polymers synthesised were also purified using GPC (Gel Permeation Chromatography) to obtain the desired polymer chain, using Polystyrene as a reference. The reactions were carried out under inert atmosphere using a Schlenk line and was monitored throughout the course of the reaction.
