• Design, engineering of Process measurement & control, services to monitor, record & optimization of processes, safety, plant communication, integration & interfacing of various plant equipment.
• Prepare design documents such as; Instrument Control and Design Philosophy, Design Basis Memorandum (DBM) or Basis for Design (BFD), Bid Engineering Work, Scope of Work for contractors, equipment technical specifications, purchase requisitions, architecture/system block diagrams and technical bid evaluation for DCS (Conventional & Field bus), PLC’s (SIL3 Safety PLC, Simplex & Redundant), Turbine Generator / Compressor / Combustion Air Blowers, CCTV, Telecommunication systems, Data Acquisition systems; as per specified project Specifications, Codes and Standards in accordance with the provisions and guidelines of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) systems and the requirements of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE).
• Technical supervision, engineering & quality check for design documents/drawings such as; technical specifications, sizing calculations, cable routing, instrument location plan/layout, instrument hook-up, installation details, wiring diagrams, I/O schedule, Instrument schedule, functional logic diagrams, loop drawings, material take off (MTO) and field instrumentation datasheets such as; control valves, shutdown valves, motor and pneumatic/hydraulic operated valves, relief valves, electronic transmitters and various types of local switches and gauges.
• Review/prepare design calculations/sizing of Instruments like Control Valves, Orifice plates, Relief valves, Annubar, Flow meter, Rupture disc (using InstruCalc plus 5.1 design software), Cables and Foundation Fieldbus Segments. Engineering in Smart Plant Instrumentation (INTOOLS)
• Perform Site visits & field verification on existing operating facilities for systems tie-in, Inter discipline design coordination to ensure correct interfacing.
• Participation in HAZOP and SIL Classification exercise in collaboration with third party consultants and Vendors.
• Making the man-hours estimates, material take offs, cost estimates.
• Project manpower planning, monitoring, and control.
• Recruitment of the manpower.
• Design verification and audits to comply customer requirements.
• Mentor/provide classroom and on-job training and technical assistance to the junior engineers.

• Identifying areas of improvement and recommending modifications in the documentation standard and working process to enhance accuracy and quality of design.
• Reviewing the working practices, identify the areas of obstruction/ quality failures and work on system and process changes for qualitative improvement/ man-hours conservation.
• Supervising the personnel, preparation of reports, co-ordination with customers, principal, and other internal departments and to apprise top management of the progress, problems and assisting in critical decision-making.

• Responsible for profitability of instrumentation man-hours, material cost and accountable for strategic utilization and deployment of available resources to achieve organizational objectives.
• Managing resources to perform design, engineering activities in cost effective manner ensuring that procurement, site construction and pre-commissioning are being carried out smoothly.
• Monitoring instrumentation activities with respect to Cost, Resource Deployment, Time over-runs, Quality Compliance and Manpower planning to ensure timely execution of projects.
