Sonar-Based Underwater Object Detection System

• Developed a machine learning model to classify underwater objects (mines, rocks, obstacles) using sonar and naval sensor data by performing preprocessing, feature engineering, normalization and dataset balancing, achieving 85% accuracy.
• Trained and optimized multiple classifiers to reduce false positives by 77% and deployed an end-to-end real-time inference prototype for naval safety applications.
