Inhibition of Snake Venom Phospholipase A₂ Activity Using Flavonoids. Research Guide: Dr. G. Jayaraman, Professor & Dean, School of Bio Sciences and Technology. Explored inhibitory potential of flavonoids against recombinant snake venom phospholipase A₂ (PLA₂), contributing to development of adjunct therapy for snakebite envenomation.

• Expressed recombinant PLA₂ in Escherichia coli and optimized protein expression through strain selection and induction parameter optimization.
• Executed protein purification through Ni-NTA affinity chromatography, Bradford protein estimation, SDS-PAGE, and enzyme activity assays, enhancing biochemical characterization of PLA₂.
• Standardized bacterial culture conditions, media preparation, induction, harvesting, and downstream processing to improve protein yield.
• Operated laboratory equipment including sonicators, refrigerated centrifuges, shaker incubators, UV–Visible spectrophotometers, gel electrophoresis, and gel documentation systems.
