With over 12 years of extensive experience in Public Health Policy, Planning, and Social Development Research, I have been serving as a Senior Consultant for the National Health Mission (NHM) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare since June 2018, following an earlier tenure as Consultant NHM for two and a half years. My professional journey within the Indian public health system, particularly at the national level, has equipped me with deep expertise in health systems strengthening, comprehensive primary healthcare, program planning and implementation, and health emergency preparedness and response. I have successfully collaborated with multiple State and UT teams to enhance capacity-building, monitoring, and evaluation efforts, thereby honing my skills as an effective team leader and strategic advisor.

Prior to this, I garnered valuable field-level insights and research proficiency as a Research Executive at Development & Research Services Private Limited, which enriched my ability to integrate practical challenges with evidence-based solutions. Academically, I hold an MBA in Health & Hospital Management from the Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. My academic background is further strengthened by hands-on research and internship experiences at reputed institutions such as Fortis Memorial Research Institute and Medanta-The Medicity.

Senior Consultant & Consultant NHM (Public Health Policy & Planning)

• Work involved close co-ordination with multiple stakeholders (Additional Secretary and Mission Director, Joint Secretary (Policy) and senior officials in the National Health Systems Resource Centres (NHSRC), State Health Secretary, Mission Director and State Programme Management Unit) on a day to day basis on the implementation of various components under National Health Mission including but not limited to preparation and approval of Annual Health Plan.
• Provided technical and administrative support to advance the National Health Mission (NHM) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through effective policy implementation and program management.
• Catalyzed health system strengthening in states by providing guidance, mentorship, and support for the implementation of decentralized public health programs.
• Led the development and implementation of State Program Implementation Plans (PIPs) under the NHM. Provided technical support, built capacities, aligned plans with national priorities and appraised State proposals. Coordinated National Programme Coordination Committee (NPCC) meetings and prepared administrative approvals/documents.
• Supported states in strengthening health systems, operationalized Ayushman Arogya Mandir, and monitored program implementation.
• Streamlined the execution of the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) in states, leading to a reduction in healthcare infrastructure development timelines and improved healthcare services for the community.
• Facilitated the seamless implementation of 15th Finance Commission recommendations, leading to a boost in funding effectiveness and program impact.
• Developed and implemented national and state-level health policies, coordinated meetings, and ensured alignment with national goals.
