During my past 12 years at Department of Atomic Energy, (Government of India), I was involved in multidisciplinary activities related to electronics, Instrumentation, and Information Technology.
Instrumentation Process Engineer: I was greatly involved in Instrumentation and maintenance activities during most of my career in our plant and possess a very good expertise in
- Process field Instrumentation:
- Hazardous area Instrumentation. I have been working in Group II-B zone-2 area all my career. I have very good expertise of various types of protection methods used in Instrumentation systems for explosive atmospheres as per ATEX.
- Siemens PCS7 SIL-III certified DCS, I was responsible for retrofitting of plant with almost 3000 IOs with SIL-III Certified DCS. I have a very good experience in preparation of IO list, SRS, FAT acceptance testing including software and hardware verification.
- Installation, Commissioning, and programming of Schneider make PLCs and SCADA for Fire water pump house.
- I have worked with machines with dedicated PLCs and Relay logic for machine protection.
- Procurement, Preparation of Technical Specification, Engineering drawings and Tender Processing.
- Lead a team of 20 as a senior Engineer responsible for Instrumentation and IT activities in our plantSoftware Development: The following software tools were solely developed by me for increasing the productivity and greatly reduce paper consumption in our plant. The development activity involved the usage of several open source web development technologies such as PHP, Mysql, JQuery, Java Script, Bootstrap, and pure CSS.
- Developed Web portal for daily report entry in all the maintenance sections in main plant of heavy water plant, Manuguru.
- Developed a Web application for streamlining the material handling equipment requisitions processing from the initiation to billing for department and contractual jobs.
- Developed a web application for a graphic rich statistical presentation of our plant’s major turn around maintenance work’s progress for all the various sections involved in the activity.
- History card managing software to keep the maintenance history of equipment related to plant. Initially it was developed using LabView later migrated to web portal for easing the setup procedure.
IT Infrastructure Maintenance: I was given the responsibility of maintaining our plants IT infrastructure for a brief period, during which I was responsible for
- Maintenance of user PCs, Domain Controllers, Mail Server, Firewall, LAN Switches, Anunet, Video Conferencing Equipment. etc.
- I was actively involved in planning of LAN expansion using FO cable connecting various buildings, sub plants utility units at our site.
- Procurement of IT equipment.
