Manufacturing Engineer (ECM, Engineering Change Management & BOM management) at HCL Technologies (Deputed to Applied Materials) (2021-10 – Present)
Applied Materials is semiconductor and display equipment company.
- ECR creation for product update/release based on the Stakeholders requirement in existing product/New product.
- Performing as the focal for Supplier Problem Sheet, where issues raised by the supplier need to be verified and assigned to respective product owners for solution.
- Validating the solution provided by the product owner for the problem in exiting part and deciding the ECR method to release the part based on the FFF(Form, Fit And Function) impact and interchangeability violation.
- Working closely with product stakeholders, supplier, MPM (Material product Management) and buyer to rectify their problem to avoid the line down issue in manufacturing and ensure the ESW(Engineering specification Waiver) or ECR(Engineering Change Request) submitted for the solution decided.
- Performing the demand analysis of the part/product and customer system to prioritize the change implementation, Supplier Problem Sheet.
- Analysing the obsolescence of OEM parts and coordinating with PLM(Product Line Management) with the parts replacement details and comparison sheet to get the PCN(Product Change Notice) submitted for customer approval.
- Responsible for managing and releasing the BOM in the PLM through ECR based on the requirement from product manager and other stakeholders.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure changes are implemented smoothly and efficiently.
- Manage the integrity and accuracy of BOM data within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and SAP.
- Responsible to ensure BOMs align with the latest product designs and engineering drawings through ECR.
- Managing thorough documentation of BOM revisions, changes, and approval workflow of the ECR.
- Implement and manage a systematic approach by following the corporate policy to version control for BOMs.
- Responsible for creating or updating MBOM structure in PLM based on the workcenter requirement through ECR.
- Providing the details to configurable ESW(Engineering specification Waiver) supporting team about the changes required in Order BOM and MBOM.
- Updating the 2D drawing, 3D model of the part/assembly based on the change requirement or new product requirement in UG NX.
- Creating new part,assembly, drawing and required dataset in PLM(Teamcenter).
- Supporting the local supplier development project through ECR/ESW creation by updating the drawing to have the equivalent raw material which can be procured in supplier location.
- Supporting the OEM alternate finding project by ECR/ESW creation and finding suitable alternate for mechanical components.
- Supplier Problem Sheet focal where act as the bridge B/W supplier and product stockholders for overall BU.
Design Engineer at TRACKTECH INTERNATIONAL PVT LTD (2017-06 – 2021-10)
Supplier of fabricated chassis, conveyor, chute, hopper and station structures for crusher, screener. Designing and supplying of undercarriage system for earthmovers.
- 3D Part modelling, Assembling and 2D drafting with GD&T annotation ASTM Y14.5-2009.
- NPD process, modifying existing undercarriage systems to match the customer's earthmoving equipment weight and mounding requirement.
- Creating ECO impact document for the revised/modified product from customer to communicate the required details to production, quality and finance department.
- Shop floor drawing control activity responsible to have the correct revision based on the manufactruing cut in date.
- Designing and drafting the fabrication drawing for production support items like raw material stacking stand, part loading fixture and part handling fixture.
- Preparing work center Bill of Material (BOM), process planning, PFMEA.
- Developing jigs & fixture, template for the NPD parts.
- Preparing Assembly work instruction of the product.
- Identifying Suppliers for the new products based on the part drawing requirement.
- Preparing costing/quotation for new product/order.
- Preparing PPAP, Production Process Flow for NPD parts.
- Work with Procurement team to place Purchase Order on Identified supplier.
- Coordinating with suppliers for the on time delivery of the purchase order placed on them.
- Preparing monthly material requirement as per the Production schedule.
- 8D report preparation to close the NC rasied from the customer end.
- Root cause analysis by using failure analysis tools like FMEA,5 WHYs and fishbone diagram(Cause and effect diagram).
- Corrective action proposal based on the failure incurred in the product/part and proposing the required change in process or design.
- Handled the Undercarriage customer development project as project lead. (developed 3 customer)
- Handled the import project of fabricated structures to farm equipment customer in New Zealand.
