Digital Head end responsibilities and OTT Head end responsibilities including installation, configuration, integration, testing, troubleshooting and monitoring of broadcasting systems.
- Experience on complete Installation & setup of Digital Head end (IP as well as ASI based)
- Configuring & interfacing Harmonic Prostream & QAM Modulators with NMS
- Working on advanced Tools like NMX Digital Domain Manager, Digital Service Manager, Automation Server Administration from HARMONICS Inc
- Preparing Test Plans required for STB's Various Parameters such as Auto or background scanning of NIT, etc (cisco,yenhi,coship sd,tcl,fibtron,Skyworth,exza,ovt,ex…)
- Maintaining all data sheets related to Headend
- Taking Backup of all Headend devices and restoring a backup if any failure
- Analysing issues reported in the QOS server and troubleshooting them
- Coordinate with vendor for system related problem for its closer & RCA
- Analyse the log of compression and acquisition-related problem
- Automation web form for auto close tickets using selenium and macro scripting
- Configuring CISCO and Huawei switches and taking a backup of changes and restoring it in case of failure
- Provided testing support for new STB (Set-Top Box) features, including the implementation and validation of STB advertisements
- Worked closely with the vendor to provide continuous support during the STB software implementation, ensuring successful completion and finalization of the software
- Provided audit support by arranging all necessary setups, coordinating seating for auditors, and executing required test cases during the audit process
- Performed server and application feature updates, followed by thorough testing using a dedicated testbed setup to avoid any impact on the customer. After successful completion of all tests, the updates were deployed to the live environment
- Managed coordination across nearly 20 locations, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for switch, NSG, and encoder-related issues to maintain service continuity
- Managed daily report extraction from four different types of CAS (Conditional Access System) servers and shared the reports with the operations team
- Assisted with ECM/EMM stream monitoring to validate content protection and subscription enforcement
- Monitored live transport streams and conducted PCR, bitrate, and continuity checks to ensure optimal video quality and service uptime
- Performed channel mapping, LCN (Logical Channel Number) configuration, and bouquet updates on the headend systems
- Ensured redundancy and failover mechanisms in place for critical headend equipment including encoders, IRDs, and multiplexers
- Supported integration and testing of STB middleware features, including EPG (Electronic Program Guide), parental controls, and VOD interfaces
- Validated STB responses to CAS messages, including ECM/EMM handling, authorization flows, and error codes
- Troubleshot and resolved STB activation, signal reception, and channel zap time issues across customer deployments
- Performed C-band satellite dish tuning and alignment to ensure optimal signal strength and quality for reliable content reception at the headend
- Integration and Configuration of OTT head-end devices like Broad peak CDN, Caching servers, Titan transcoders, and IRD
