• Ex- Chief Risk Officer who has retired from active corporate life as on 31st March 2023 (my age is 55) to focus on academics/consulting.
• More than 27 years experience in Risk Management 
• Have taught courses in Quantitative Finance such as Risk Management, Derivatives and Fixed Income Securities at IIM Indore and IIT Bombay School of Management
• Experience in marrying quant skills to various financial applications such as designing a dealer receivable financing tool, putting in place SME score cards for banks as part of their core banking, actuarial pricing of property insurance contracts, pricing of tranches of securitisation transactions and pricing credit derivatives.
• Evaluating potential M&A of retail digital lending companies after assessing their credit models. This involved evaluating the credit and quant skills of the firms.

Chief Risk Officer, KKR India Asset Finance (KIAF)

• Responsible for assessing and managing the credit risk of KIAF’s real estate lending portfolio
• Member of the Investment Committee and the Portfolio Management Committee of the NBFC

Chief Risk Officer, JM Financial Credit Solutions

• Responsible for assessing credit risk of JM’s NBFC investments in the areas of high yield and structured loans in the promoter funding, real estate, infrastructure and SME segments. Part of the Credit Committee which takes credit investment decisions. Lead a team that continuously monitors the credit risk of all transactions.
• Assessed the statistical risk framework of a couple of retail/SME lending fintech firms for M&A
• Responsible for assessing credit risk of debt mutual fund investments
• Involved in principal investing in high yield fixed income products such as mezzanine securitization tranches. Involved in structuring transactions, modeling and pricing of risk and managing investment positions

VP & Fixed Income BU Head, Morgan Stanley 

• Lead a team of research analysts involved in the research of global fixed income markets in the areas of investment grade and high yield credit products, securitized products, credit derivatives and credit research of bank capital instruments such as hybrid Tier1 and upper and lower tier II bonds.

Asst General Manager, ICRA Ltd. 

• Advised banks on funding strategy for stressed companies. Put in place Basel II compliant credit risk management systems at several Indian banks. Advised many mortgage finance companies on the management of asset liability mismatch risk through use of an ALM system, created by self. Lead a comprehensive “Derivatives Review” at a large bank, evaluating its pricing methodology, accounting and risk management for derivative exposures.

Sr. Business Analyst and Head-Operations, Winterthur/Churchill India Ltd (Earlier part of Credit Suisse group) 

• Lead a team of business analysts involved in actuarial modeling and pricing of Property and Casualty insurance contracts for multinational companies and alternative risk transfer (ART) products (chiefly credit products) for potential clients. Part of team which valued a credit derivatives portfolio for potential purchase from a French insurance company

Manager, ICRA Ltd. (Indian associate of Moody’s Investors Services)

• Involved in the credit rating of bonds in several sectors and non-recourse project finance bonds. Created a sophisticated project finance model for assessing the riskiness of infrastructure projects

• Part of the project management team for executing a refinery project on a turnkey basis. Involved in the marketing and preparation of EPC contracts
