MSC PROJECT - MOLECULAR SURVEILLANCE OF WASTEWATER FOR MONITORING HUMAN PATHOGENS at NITTE UNIVERSITY CENTRE FOR SCIENCE EDUCATION AND RESEARCH (2025-08 – Present)

• Collected wastewater from STP's of Mangalore and further filtered to remove large debris
• It was then centrifuged to separate the pellet and supernatant
• DNA/RNA was extracted using the kit based method
• The extracted nucleic acid was subjected to RT-qPCR, conventional PCR, Multiplex PCR using several primers, AMR gene, CrAssphage and PCR panels
• Agarose gel electrophoresis was performed to confirm the results
• The confirmed PCR positivity was subjected to sequence analysis
• Statistical analysis was done
• Spatial and temporal trends were analysed

INTERN at BENGALURU BIO CLUSTER (2025-08 – Present)

Completed a one-month internship in Bangalore with focused hands-on training in animal cell culture, microbiology, and molecular biology techniques. Gained practical experience in media preparation, aseptic handling, cell passaging, and cryopreservation. Developed proficiency in molecular techniques including PCR and gel electrophoresis, along with a strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP).

INTERN at ONE EARTH ENVIRO LABORATORY

Completed a one-month internship at One Earth Enviro Lab, gaining hands-on experience in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and routine microbiology workflows. Trained in the operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments including autoclave, electronic balance, laminar airflow, and hot air oven. Developed proficiency in aseptic and sterile techniques, media and sample preparation, aerobic microbial count, Most Probable Number (MPN) methods, and plating techniques.

Additionally, acquired skills in basic data analysis and accurate documentation of experimental results.
