I am Dr. Mohd Yasir, presently working as an Associate Professor since 2017 in the Department of Pharmacy, College of Health Sciences, Arsi University, Asella, Ethiopia. In this role, I am actively engaged in teaching, research, academic administration, and curriculum development, contributing to the university's overall academic and institutional growth.
With 18 years of teaching experience in Pharmaceutics, I have strong expertise in delivering core and advanced courses, including dosage form design, biopharmaceutics, novel drug delivery systems, pharmaceutical technology, and industrial pharmacy, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I have been actively involved in outcome-based curriculum design, revision, and implementation in alignment with accreditation and regulatory requirements, and I regularly contribute to academic and curriculum committees. My academic profile is supported by a strong research background, with over 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, reflecting high citation impact and proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing.
My research expertise extends to advanced drug delivery systems, particularly nanotechnology-based approaches, lipid and polymeric carriers, intranasal and topical formulations, and in vitro and ex vivo characterization techniques. I have demonstrated the ability to successfully develop, manage, and report funded research projects, including proposal preparation and effective project coordination. Alongside research, I have extensive experience mentoring students by supervising undergraduate and postgraduate projects and dissertations, and by participating in viva examinations.
I also serve as an experienced peer reviewer for several international journals published by Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and Bentham Science, ensuring scientific rigor and adherence to ethical standards. My academic responsibilities include designing assessments such as MCQs, case-based evaluations, practical examinations, and competency-based assessment tools. Additionally, I have strong knowledge of quality assurance and regulatory requirements, including GMP, validation, stability studies, quality control, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
I actively contribute to academic leadership and departmental administration through governance, accreditation, and institutional development. Complementing these roles, I maintain strong professional communication and collaboration skills, with experience in delivering invited lectures, presenting at conferences, and engaging in international research collaborations.
