• Design and develop complete automotive seating systems including structures, foams, plastic trims, headrests, armrests, safety parts, ISOFIX, blowers, and wiring.
• Complete seating system ownership from concept, drawing release, prototype, pilot, and LP to SOP for Indian and export projects.
• Conduct packaging & interface studies with BIW, trims, seat assemblies, sub-parts, and surrounding components.
• Conduct seating comfort reviews during the design stage per customer requirements.
• Develop, review, and approve 3D/2D CAD data in CATIA V5 according to OEM drafting standards.
• Review drawings for GD&T, material specs, manufacturability, tooling feasibility, and assembly.
• Prepare and support engineering changes (ECO/ECR) prior to customer and supplier release.
• Coordinate supplier tooling kick-offs, prototype builds, part approvals, and manufacturability.
• Support plant activities during prototype, pilot, LP, and mass production; resolve fitment/assembly issues.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design, quality, and production issues.
• Coordinate with Client, Vehicle Eng, Manufacturing, Quality, Studio, CAE, Testing, and CFTs.
• Track engineering release schedules, cost targets, and weight metrics per program requirements.
• Support cost, weight, and delivery targets across prototype, pilot, LP, and SOP stages.
• Conduct competitor tear-downs and benchmarking for weight, material, and cost architecture reports.
• Compare internal project metrics against benchmark data to drive strategic weight reduction initiatives.
• Propose VA/VE ideas by analyzing competitor designs to optimize costs while maintaining part quality.
• Review physical samples and lead cross-functional meetings to validate VA/VE proposal feasibility.
