About

Mechanical engineer with nearly three years of experience in subsea equipment design, structural analysis, and project engineering at TechnipFMC and Oceaneering International. Proficient in FEA, subsea distribution hardware design, and cross-functional project execution in compliance with API 17D. Experienced in hydraulic and electrical schematics, UTAs, SFLs, and umbilical systems.

Committed to delivering robust and cost-effective engineering solutions in the subsea and oil & gas industry. Open to relocation.

Experience

Project Engineer at TechnipFMC (2025-04 – Present)

  • Leading a cross-functional team of engineers for project execution for ExxonMobil Guyana projects and stakeholder management in all stages of Design Reviews.
  • Engineered critical components including UTAs, Mudmats, Padeyes, and Cathodic Protection systems in accordance with API standards.
  • Performed ROV Impact, Non-standard Mudmat FEA, and HISC (Hydrogen Induced Stress Cracking) analyses for small bore tubings in subsea distribution systems.
  • Reviewed hydraulic and electrical schematics; created MQC Inboards for manifolds.
  • Worked on Cobra Heads (CH) and Steel Flying Leads (SFLs), ensuring compliance with interface and design requirements. Revised check valve positioning to mitigate ROV tool interface in a cobra head under tight space constraints.
  • Conducted Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for a Delrin plate tube routing issue, identifying failure mechanisms and implementing corrective design actions.
  • Developed solutions for secondary CP continuity in Electrical and Optical Distribution systems.
  • Collaborated with manufacturing engineers to support production of unique UTA designs at plant.
  • Implemented Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify process inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement in project management workflows.

Mechanical Engineer at Oceaneering International (2023-07 – 2025-03)

  • Performed hardware calculations for Reel packs, Testing GAs, Umbilical datasheets, Subsea GAs, and Topside terminations, coupled with comprehensive design and report generation ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Executed Elastic, Elastic-Plastic structural and Fatigue analysis in ANSYS for different hardware; performed padeye strength checks, weld checks, and fastener checks as per DNV, delivering critical insights for robust and reliable engineering designs.
  • Optimized team efficiency by developing a best-practice document for partition spoke analysis, resulting in reduced man hours and improved workflow consistency.
  • Standardized the design and FEA of supporting hardware of UTA to save efforts, repetitive work, and 500 manual hours.
  • Implemented practices to reduce COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) and improve manufacturing reliability.
