Fellow - The Shiksha Sambal project - Rajasthan (Udaipur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, and Ajmer)
The Shiksha Sambal project, launched in 2008 by Hindustan Zinc (HZL), is an initiative aimed at providing quality secondary education to underprivileged children in villages. In 2016, Vidya Bhawan Society (VBS) came on board as a technical partner. Since then, this has evolved into a unique partnership among a corporate agency (HZL), a non-governmental organization (VBS), the general public, and the Government of Rajasthan.
Operating across five districts of Rajasthan (Udaipur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, and Ajmer), VBS supports 64 secondary and senior secondary schools, reaching out to approximately 14,000 children, 160 teachers, and 64 field personnel, including 6 field coordinators and over 20 resource persons. Together, they strive to enhance the quality of education.
