• Practice autonomously within scope of practice, professional limitations and ethical boundaries.
• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and pediatric patients with COPD, asthma, pneumonia and ARDS.
• Perform respiratory and functional assessments including pulmonary function testing, DLCO, FeNO, PEFR and exercise capacity testing, including the 6-minute walk test.
• Educate patients undergoing pre-lung and heart transplant care; monitor and modify exercise programmes according to progress and tolerance.
• Provide care in accordance with International Patient Safety Goals while safeguarding patient rights, dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
• Work extensively in Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery ICU and Coronary Care Unit for patients undergoing CABG, valve replacement and pericardial window surgery.
• Provide chest care, postural drainage, breathing exercises and mobilisation for post-operative cardiothoracic patients.
• Implement and monitor respiratory therapies including nebulised medications and oxygen titration; provide chest physiotherapy, bronchopulmonary hygiene and breathing exercises.
• Collaborate with doctors, surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to improve patient outcomes.
• Maintain departmental records and equipment; participate in NABH, JCI and internal hospital audits.
