Clinically enhancing clinical skills via internship at Cardio Vascular Thoracic Surgery department

• Set up, primed & managed heart lung machine and extracorporeal devices to enhance patient care during surgeries.
• Conducted cardiopulmonary bypass and life support procedures with a focus on patient safety.
• Collaborated closely with Surgeon, anaesthetist, staff nurse & other health care professional to set up, clean & test perfusion equipment enhancing procedural efficiency.
• Performed many saphenous vein harvesting and closed via suturing.
• Led emergency response efforts during critical situation in the operating room as well as pre-op and post-op care units ensuring patient safety.
• Reviewed comprehensive patient medical histories to inform surgical decision and perfusion strategies.
• Monitored invasive pressure readings and adjusted perfusion parameters to ensure patients stability.
• Monitored and interpreted laboratory studies such as blood gas & coagulation to ensure optimal operation of extracorporeal equipment.
• Evaluated patient hemodynamic & metabolic status using laboratory results & clinical observation.
