IGMP Static Join in iBOS - It is desired for some customers to have a few multicast groups always flowing to some or all iBOS devices in the network in order to continuously monitor multicast quality using RPM. This may also shorten the time to zap to popular TV channels. IGMP static-joins are implemented to extend support for IGMP snooped vlan interfaces on the MS4K.
Static joins inserts real IGMP report packets, but only to the IP stack in iBOS which delivers the packets to the IGMP querier in ZebOS (and all other iBOS devices using igmp snooping on vlan).

LLDP in iBOS - The Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) is an industry-standard, vendor-neutral method to allow network devices to advertise capabilities, identity, and other information onto a LAN.
Protocol (LLDP), which runs over OSI Layer 2, allows locally attached devices in a network, such as switches and routers, to advertise information about themselves to listening devices. Because devices continually broadcast and listen for LLDP messages, they can discover when a new device is added or one removed. In this way, they maintain an accurate picture of a dynamic network. LLDP runs over the Data Link Layer, so devices that use different Network Layer protocols can still identify each other. LLDP collects local device information including the management IP address, device ID, and port ID and advertises the information to neighbors.

Service Based Licenses in iBOS - Current IBOS support licenses to turn some functionality ON and OFF. There is need for new model where a maximum number of services is licensed instead. A license bundle is bought from Waystream and encoded in a license file.
Currently a license file contains all functionality licenses for a specific node (using main board mac address as unique identifier). When licenses expire or if more resources than licensed are needed, a grace period of 5 days shall be started. During this grace period the configured resources are allowed.
New grace period shall be possible to activate via Waystream support.
