• Develop & implement major procurement strategies and purchase schedules thereby ensuring accomplishment of organizational objectives while handling overall procurement
• Source potential vendors in compliance with the company policies and procedures; develop the vendors to get the supply of the materials at right time and at competitive prices
• Invite quotations, prepare proposals and negotiate the contract terms to get the best business deals
• Ensure smooth co-ordination for quality/ quantity inspection, transportation and planning & scheduling shipments for effective inventory management
• Coordinate with the Suppliers / Vendors and other department to ensure appropriate quantity and quality of materials from the sourced vendors
• Place purchase orders to the suppliers after negotiating and supervised Specs, Quantity, Price, Delivery, Payments etc. and thereby, signing the papers
• Develop alternate vendor sources for cost-effective procurements of goods & optimized inventory holdup
• Implement inventory control measures to reduce obsolete stock, track slow-moving items and facilitate value engineering initiatives at the suppliers end to reduce cost of rejection of the material supplied
• Prepare strong and reliable MIS reports to streamline material management, Cost Savings, Vendor Quality Assurance operations for facilitating the decision making process
• Raise purchase indent & prepare PO as required; verify delivery advices and purchase indents
• Maintain records of Purchase Department as per (ISO 9001:2000) guidelines
