About
DevOps and platform engineer with 4+ years of experience in AWS and Kubernetes, including hybrid setups that pair AWS with on-prem Oracle Linux servers. At TCS I look after 10 Amazon EKS clusters across several environments and AWS accounts, and handle cluster upgrades, node patching, AMI updates and production issues. I write Terraform modules, use Ansible and Python to automate routine work, and maintain the CI/CD pipelines that development teams deploy through.
I also write the runbooks and onboarding documents those teams rely on. Currently preparing for the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) exam.
Experience
Senior DevOps Engineer - Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) - Hyderabad, Telangana
(2024-05)
- Manage 10 Amazon EKS clusters across dev, SIT, staging and production, spread over multiple AWS accounts.
- Handle EKS cluster lifecycle work: Kubernetes version upgrades, node patching and AMI updates.
- Troubleshoot pod and node issues in dev, SIT and production by connecting to the clusters with kubectl through a bastion host.
- Fixed a production incident where pods were stuck in Pending. Root cause analysis showed a node in NotReady state because the node group did not have enough capacity. Increased the node group size, the node came back to Ready and the pending pods were scheduled and running again.
- Wrote Terraform modules and kept them in one repository, with environment-specific resource blocks reused across dev, SIT, staging and production.
- Keep Terraform state in S3 with DynamoDB locking, which keeps environments consistent and helps avoid drift.
- Provision AWS resources for application teams on a daily and ad hoc basis: VPCs, security groups, EC2, S3, IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, AppConfig, Lambda and EKS.
- Use GitHub Copilot with tuned prompts to generate Terraform code, which cuts module-writing time and makes large provisioning runs easier with minimal downtime.
- Work directly with 6–7 development teams to integrate their microservices into the CI/CD pipelines and onboard them to EKS through to deployment.
- Follow a set deployment order for governance: Kubernetes resources first, then workloads.
- Prepared runbooks, SOPs, onboarding KT documents and a deployment guide, shared with the internal team as an Excel sheet for use during CI/CD deployments.
- Build GitHub Actions pipelines for AWS services and Python APIs, which brought release cycle time down by 35%.
- Set up GitFlow branching, governance rules and automated quality gates in the deployment pipelines.
- Automate deployment templates, configuration validation and regression checks with Python and Bash, cutting down manual operational work.
- Monitor pipelines and deployments with Prometheus, Grafana and the ELK Stack to catch issues early.
- Keep Dev, Staging and Production aligned on AWS and work with Release Management and QA on release readiness and validation.
- Part of the 24x7 production support rotation, covering incident troubleshooting and deployment validation.
AWS DevOps Engineer - HCL Technologies Ltd. - Hyderabad, Telangana
(2021-03 - 2023-09)
- Implemented a DevSecOps pipeline in Jenkins with a SonarQube quality gate that fails the build when code coverage is below 80%.
- Added Trivy image scanning to the same pipeline so vulnerabilities in container images were flagged before deployment, keeping deployment time low.
- Administered on-prem Oracle Linux 8 servers: patching, CPU, memory and disk troubleshooting, systemd, log analysis and hardening.
- Prepared environments to host applications in the on-prem data center.
- Worked on a hybrid cloud setup where applications were deployed to Kubernetes using Docker and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Wrote Ansible playbooks and roles to automate day-to-day tasks and batch scheduling on EC2 instances.
- Created multi-stage Dockerfiles for Java, Python and Node.js applications.
- Built and maintained Jenkins and GitHub Actions pipelines for multi-environment AWS deployments, with automated testing and approval gates.
- Ran AWS security assessments and put IAM policies, VPC segmentation, encryption and disaster recovery controls in place, which contributed to about a 25% drop in cloud security incidents.
- Configured Splunk and CloudWatch for monitoring, compliance logging and release-health dashboards.
- Wrote Python and Shell scripts for environment validation, configuration checks and production support tasks.
- Automated Salesforce deployments with SFDX and the Metadata API, and added Snowflake SQL workflows to the deployment pipelines.
- Supported 24x7 production environments and worked with engineering and QA teams on troubleshooting and release validation.
