During this project we have utilized different types of activated nucleophiles, which can act as nucleophiles in gold-catalyzed CO insertion. In this project we perform catalytic reaction under CO atmosphere which leads to give our desired product. The catalytic reaction is monitored by thin-layer chromatography and isolated by using column chromatography. After that, the purified compounds were characterised by NMR, HRMS, and SCXRD analysis.

Independent Project - Synthesis of Novel NHC-Based Chiral Ligands for enantioselective gold catalysis - Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal - Bhopal, India
(2025-05 - 2025-11)
The goal of this project is to design and synthesize various types of chiral NHC-based gold complexes for Au(I)/(III) enantioselective transformations. In this project, I have synthesized NHC-based chiral ligands using diverse organic reactions, including the protection and deprotection of alcohol and amine functionalities (silylation, benzylation, methylation, and debenzylation reactions), ring expansion, formylation, imination, and various air- and moisture-sensitive reactions, such as metal-catalysed C-N coupling, to form chiral NHC-based gold complexes. The reaction was monitored by thin-layer chromatography.
Thereafter, we isolate a pure compound by using column chromatography. After that, the purified compounds were characterised by NMR, HRMS, and SCXRD analysis. The enantiomeric ratio of chiral compounds was determined using analytical HPLC with the use of chiral columns, including Chiralpak IA, IB, IC, and Chiralcel OD-H, OZ.
Independent Project - Department of Chemistry - Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal - Bhopal, India
(2024-11 - 2025-01)
My role in this internship is to develop a synthesis route for various types of phospholipids that mimic those found in Thermoplasma acidophilum, based on earlier literature, and to synthesise them by varying the polar head groups and hydrophobic tails.
Student Intern - Gold catalysis for Organic synthesis - Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal - Bhopal, India
(2024-05 - 2024-07)
In this internship I have designed and synthesised the different types of dienes and activated different types of dienes using various gold complexes. During the internship, I designed various types of substrates (dienes) by using the Wittig reaction, ozonolysis of alkenes, protection of amines and alcohols, and synthesis of different types of gold complexes; tried some catalytic reactions; studied the reactivity of dienes under desired reaction conditions; optimized the reaction under different conditions; and attempted some electrochemical reactions using the Electrasyn 2.0 device. All the organic reactions were monitored by thin-layer chromatography, purified by column chromatography, and characterized by NMR, HRMS, and SCXRD.
Student Intern - Endiyne anticancer antibiotics - Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati - Guwahati, India
(2023-12 - 2024-01)
This internship aims to synthesise Enediynes, which are organic compounds effective against cancer. In this project, we synthesised various acyclic endiynes through a multistep reaction using the Sonogashira coupling and click reaction. Thin-layer chromatography was used to monitor all the reactions, column chromatography to purify, and NMR, HRMS, and SCXRD to characterise the organic compounds.
Afterwards, we attempted Bergman cyclisation at a lower temperature and then attempted to cleave the DNA with the help of compounds, which was detected via agarose gel electrophoresis.
Student Intern - Design and Development of Novel Sulfonamide-Based Heterocyclic Compounds effective against SARS-COV-2 - Miranda House, University of Delhi - Delhi, India
(2023-06 - 2023-08)
In this internship I tried to design novel compounds, synthesise sulfonamide-based heterocyclic compounds, and learn molecular docking. Here, we synthesised several organic compounds with a sulfonyl moiety attached, which are effective against SARS-CoV-2. All the organic reactions were monitored by thin-layer chromatography and purified by column chromatography and characterised by NMR, HRMS, and SCXRD. Subsequently, we conducted SAR studies on these compounds.
