While working in a SEN school, I supported students with a range of additional needs by helping create a safe, calm, and supportive environment. The role required strong patience, emotional awareness, and communication skills when dealing with challenging behaviour, including emotional outbursts and physically challenging situations. I learned how to remain calm under pressure, respond professionally during incidents, and use de-escalation techniques to support students safely and respectfully.
