Senior R&D Engineer – Embedded & Communication May 2025 – Present
Power One Micro Systems Pvt. Ltd. | Pune, Maharashtra
Embedded Firmware & Communication
- Developed embedded communication firmware on STM32G070RBTX for real-time acquisition and transmission of inverter parameters across multiple protocols.
- Implemented Modbus RTU/TCP protocol stack for GUI/HMI-based inverter monitoring and remote diagnostics.
- Integrated ESP32 with STM32 over UART for Wi-Fi communication in STA and AP modes, enabling mobile app-based inverter monitoring.
- Implemented HTTP-based communication for transmitting live inverter operational data to cloud/web platforms.
- Integrated SIMCOM A7670C GSM/LTE module with STM32 via AT commands; implemented MQTT publish functionality for remote inverter monitoring.
- Designed multi-MCU architecture: TI C2000 (control) → STM32 (communication) → ESP32 (Wi-Fi/Cloud).
Inverter Design, Testing & Validation
- Developed automated inverter design calculation sheets in Microsoft Excel for both single-phase and three-phase systems — a parameterized tool where input of rating values auto-updates all component calculations, enabling rapid design of new inverter systems at any power level.
- Tested and validated single-phase inverters (3 kW–10 kW) and three-phase inverters (10 kW–100 kW) under various load and operating conditions.
- Debugged firmware and hardware-level issues during development, integration, and field validation phases.
- Verified inverter protection schemes, communication stability, and operational behavior across the full power range.
Documentation & Engineering Support
- Prepared and maintained BOMs for inverter product lines; supported component selection based on electrical and thermal specifications.
- Created structured test reports, engineering documents, and user manuals for inverter products.
R&D Engineer – PGET (Embedded & Metering) July 2024 – April 2025
Rishabh Instruments Pvt. Ltd. | Nashik, Maharashtra
Embedded Firmware & Smart Metering
- Led firmware development for a 4U MBUS-based Smart Energy Meter from hardware bring-up through production validation.
- Implemented ANSI-compliant smart meter protocols: C12.1 (physical layer), C12.18 (optical port), and C12.19 (data tables).
- Implemented and debugged Modbus, MBUS, UART, SPI, and I²C communication protocols; resolved critical timing and framing issues.
- Performed real-time hardware debugging and root-cause analysis during board bring-up and system integration.
Hardware Testing & Validation
- Conducted high-voltage testing up to 1000 V DC for electrical safety compliance and dielectric validation.
- Validated hardware using oscilloscopes, Yokogawa DC sources, and Fluke DMMs; performed PCB assembly, SMT soldering, and hardware rework.
- Worked with TI MSPM0, STM32F407VG, and Silergy SY7M213H microcontrollers; used SAP for BOM creation and engineering documentation.
