I graduated with a degree in biochemistry and a master's in biomedical sciences.
Pursuing Ph.D. Life sciences from DIPAS, DRDO from 01-10-2019 (ongoing)
Hypobaric Hypoxia is an environmental stressor countered at high altitudes (>2500m). Decreased barometric pressure results in a fall in the partial pressure of oxygen, culminating in reduced fraction of inspired oxygen. Our research group has helped establish the role of novel gasomessenger (H2S) in acclimatization to high altitudes.
My work has led to development of chimeric drug molecules- which in future can be used for rapid induction of soldiers posted in challenging high-altitude frontiers on our Northern borders. On a basic research front, my work established a redox-signaling basis for the action of this gasomessenger and this specific class of drugs.
Masters in Biomedical Science.
