Release Environment Management team supports application and testing teams by building test regions using production data to support US projects which include compliance related releases and major projects like Greenfield and Morel where HSBC transferred customers to buyer banks. Team is responsible for providing a high level of support to existing customers of North America Region. We create and own all test regions for SIT, UAT and Prod Fix.
Team has full control over the test regions. We own 7 different test regions for SIT/UAT and Prod fix.
- Build Test Regions: Production data files are desensitized using Cobol scrambling programs and they are sent to test LPARs using C:D gateways.
- Code deployment: All application related codes are promoted to SIT/UAT till Pre prod. Predefined processes are to be followed while performing any deployment.
- Desensitizing the customer sensitive files: Application team's request production files to be transferred to Dev LPARs for their testing purpose. Our team writes Cobol scrambling code, promoted to Production by raising Change Orders. After implementation of the Change order, required production files are transmitted to Dev LPARs.
- Batch job scheduling: Application team request for scheduling new jobs, updating/deleting existing jobs from the scheduler by following a process of raising required forms. Our team picks those up and performs required actions.
- Daily Batch run: 5+ batches per week are planned as per HSBC US Release Management team in conjunction with application and testing teams. Our team has setup the jobs in scheduler and run it daily based on the application team instructions. Checkpoints need to be followed while running batches and we work in conjunction with application and test teams while running batches.
- Understanding and analyzing the client's requirements.
- Analyzing the existing programs code and modifying the code with new requirements
- Involving in Project Review Meetings with Business analysts, helping in the preparation of Design Documents for the Enhancements.
- Involving in resolving functional issues with Onsite Team.
- Analyzing the requirement and modifying the necessary procedures or functions.
- Resolving technical errors/issues encountered while monitoring the applications.
- Fix the failed jobs by investigating and analyzing
- Monitoring CICS Applications for the performance
- Scheduling applications and Jobs as per the requirement.
- Understanding the requirements and having discussions with onsite if any issues and suggestions
