Explainable AI for Android Malware Classification

• Developed a CNN-based Android malware detection system using 4,464 applications and 241 static features, achieving 95–97% accuracy.
• Designed and compared 1D (CSV-based) and 2D (grayscale image-based) CNN architectures to evaluate feature representation consistency.
• Implemented 5-Fold Cross Validation and benchmarked performance against a Random Forest model to improve generalization.
• Applied Grad-CAM and LIME for explainable AI, analyzing feature importance to enhance transparency of malware classification decisions.
