RETMS – Removal of Encroachment Tracking and Management System (BMC)

• Built a TypeScript batch ETL migrating 104,485 active complaints with their inspections, notices, demolitions, cost recovery, attachments and history from BMC’s legacy PostgreSQL system, mapping ∼180 workflow stages and encrypting PII.
• Made the migration idempotent and resumable: every inserted record is registered in the same transaction as its business row, with per-case checkpoints, batching, concurrency control, dry-run and retry-failed-only modes, and registry-based rollback.
• Reconciled results ward- and beat-wise against source tables (key totals matching exactly); built idempotent repair tools that backfilled 8,400+ missing cost recovery rows and fixed 1,400+ reopened cases.
• Built REST API endpoints in NestJS for case workflows, with rate limiting on API hits and retry handling for failed operations.
• Built NestJS cron jobs to generate dashboard report data, retrying failed runs on the next scheduled execution; added indexes and optimized PostgreSQL queries to speed up reporting endpoints.
• Built ArcGIS map modules for ward-wise and beat-wise geotagged case mapping; contributed to bilingual (English/Marathi) UI, role-based workflows and MIS dashboards.
