Working as a Manager (Engineering project) in providing detailed engineering for captive power plant, Bio-mass power plant, Co-generation power plant electrical substation & automation, ferro alloy plant and solar power plant. The Scope of working involves details proposal project preparation for thermal power plant and solar power plants. The division has been a pioneer in bringing the concept of EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) in industrial power generation.
Spanning over 125 varied projects, P&ES division has contracted more than 3,300 MW of power plants. Further, the division is executing multiple EPC projects for Bio-CNG plants, FGD and ferro process units.
- Team lead in Electrical engineering within the proposal team prepared customer focused competitive and innovative proposals
- Negotiate with customer / consortium partner successfully and transfer bid into order
- Analyse customer specification and elaborate optimized solutions in line with project specific proposal strategy
- Prepared bid Plan, schedule and conduct proposal engineering tasks within given time frame
- Drive actively interdisciplinary solutions in order to provide competitive bid
- Coordinate supporting engineering units in accordance with project specific requirements
- Transfer information provided in team meetings to the engineering organization
- Prepare competitive costs for own scope
- Review and actively challenge costs prepared by supporting engineering units
- Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities, provide compact and comprehensive description and develop appropriate risk mitigation measures
- Review of Client RFQ, tender documents and preparation of clarifications/deviations and maintaining data sheets
- Develop key Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Feeders list
- Preparation of major specifications like cables, switchgear, transformers, switchyard, Lighting, Cable trays, etc.
- Review of Vendor offers, making technical comparison of various packages from various vendors and helping procurement technically for closing
- Review of Vendor post order documents and ensuring correctness for the project and specification requirement
- Conduct meeting with vendors for technical clarifications
- Preparation of detail engineering documents like – Drive list, cable schedule, interconnection schedule, lighting layout, cable tray routing, earthing layout
- Preparation of erection BOQ for Electricals
- Co-ordination with other functions for detail engineering and for Cost estimation
- Resolving technical queries with Client/ Consultant, vendor and site team
- Preparation of Electrical contract and document for project execution
- Prepare techno-commercial offers in stipulated time schedule
- Electrical System costing with high accuracy
- Estimation of Bulk Items for Electrical System
- Preparation of Conceptual Layouts
- Generate optimization ideas to save cost / time / space

- Creates and manages cost estimates and project schedules, and will be responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule
- Performs detailed engineering calculations and analysis
- Coordinates execution of projects with other disciplines and the Project/Program Manager
- Develops large electrical design projects from inception to completion
- Prepares packages for the procurement of electrical equipment (including equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, and transformers)
- Strong baseline knowledge of a National Electrical Codes (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes
- Maintain standards and specifications for electrical projects
- Assist with development and designs for improvement of components, systems, costs or assembly/manufacturing methods
- Building cooperation among individuals and departments, sharing information and resources, and working to achieve group goals and outcomes
- Contribute to the innovation of product, design, way of working etc
- Plan, Schedule, Control, Monitor, guide/direct & coordinate the entire Project management in co-ordination with respective functions
- Organize, support, assist the team members to adhere to and deliver to fulfill techno-commercial contract terms & conditions
- Ensure the Project expenses/commitments are within the budgets provided while meeting the delivery schedule
- Plan and achieve the invoicing figures for the month/year (i.e. to meet the ABP of the company)
- Prepare additional claim case and resolve amicably with customer
- Apply for delivery extension and LD (liquidated damages) waiver wherever applicable
- Conduct regular reviews with Engineering and materials to ensure timely supply of materials
- Coordinate with various functions for logistics
- Conduct Kick Off meeting with customer along with essential team members namely Engineering, Proposal etc.
- Conduct Site KOM with customer along with construction team member
- Coordinate drawing and documents submission and approvals from customer
- Resolve various issues during project execution related to Engineering, materials etc. with the help of CFT members
- Handled diversified consultants including Tata Consultancy, Avant Garde, Fichtner, Aquatherm, MN Dastur, Foster Wheeler, ARK, Essbee, Holtec, etc.
