I have spent 18 years of my professional career honing my writing and editing skills across varied complex domains. I have been a journalist covering crime and politics in national capital Delhi, and have spent close to three years editing and churning grammatically and factually correct, and contextually simplified copy at India’s biggest private news agency IANS, on a range of topics - politics, diplomacy, science and technology, sports, crime, and business and economics.
I am particularly curious about macroeconomics, company businesses and financial instruments. I am a post-Covid stock market investor, and after having built a decent retail portfolio once, I am now addicted to my daily fill of long format analysis that deep dives into economy and business. I credit my days at brokerage firm IIFL Securities to have kindled the first sparks of direct stock investing and regular follow up of business news.
As a senior content writer, I have published daily newsletters on stocks and commodities at IIFL Securities.
Perhaps the biggest test of my ability to skilfully translate technical articles into easy-to-read articles for a larger, non-technical audience has been my stint at my current organization. As the Senior Knowledge Manager, I have consistently worked on Case studies and articles laced with technical jargon that had to be simplified.
Distilling intricate and often convoluted technical information into captivating storytelling that is easy to consume has been the cornerstone of my career. And my suitability for editing and shaping a business book series is rooted in a unique combination of editorial discipline, multi-domain fluency, and content mastery.
I have recently completed overseeing the editing and proofreading of a military fiction political thriller written with 79,000 words in some 350+ pages.
To summarise, I understand content intrinsically and instinctively, and I can handle all content-related jobs well.
I have learnt everything that's worth learning on the job.
