Raj Chhapariya

I graduated with a B.Tech in Information Technology from AKTU in 2024. Over the past year, I have focused on machine learning through self-directed projects, primarily building and testing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and tabular data agents. Instead of simply building quick demos, I spend time testing where these systems fail, checking citation accuracy, measuring hallucinations, and adding safety checks to queries.

Alongside this work, I built atsroast.com and spent six months setting up and running a local restaurant in Varanasi, which taught me practical budgeting, vendor management, and operational responsibility under real constraints. I am applying for the MS in Computer Science program at KAUST (Fall 2027) to strengthen my theoretical and algorithmic foundations and conduct rigorous research in artificial intelligence and data systems.

Creator & Full-Stack Developer at Resume Roaster (atsroast.com) (2026-01 – Present)

• Built and launched an end-to-end career preparation tool that parses resumes, generates bullet point revisions, drafts cover letters, and runs AI interview practice.
• Structured the PostgreSQL database on Supabase with row-level security policies to ensure user data remains isolated, and queued long-running tasks asynchronously using QStash.
• Wrote automated test suites and input validation routines to handle rate limits and maintain reliable user sessions under load.

Restaurant Owner & Manager at Restaurant Owner & Manager (2025-01 – 2025-07)

• Founded and managed a local independent restaurant in Varanasi for six months, handling daily cash flow, ingredient procurement, supplier pricing, and staff scheduling.
• Monitored daily sales receipts against procurement expenses to reduce inventory waste and manage working capital within tight budget constraints.
• Gained practical experience in operational problem solving, accountability, and decision-making under real-world constraints before handing over operations to focus full-time on graduate studies.
