Vehicle E/E Integration Lead (EE Architect – Assistant Manager) - Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (RNTBCI) - Chennai
(2019-11)
Lead 6 engineers across 3 parallel workstreams delivering full-vehicle EE architecture for EV and ICE programs on global Renault-Nissan platforms.
- Workstream 1: Wiring Architecture & Circuit Diagram Delivery – Lead a team of 3 engineers to collect function-level circuit inputs from all system stakeholders and consolidate them into a full-vehicle Wiring Circuit Diagram (WCD) delivered to the harness design and manufacturing teams.
- Own end-to-end WCD lifecycle from initial architecture release through ECO change management, ensuring traceability to harness design and plant-level build readiness.
- Manage carry-over and carry-across EE part files across vehicle programs, reducing rework and maintaining architecture consistency across platforms.
- Workstream 2: ECU Network Topology & Signal Validation – Lead 2 engineers in ECU network topology preparation and validation, including new ECU addition, signal mapping, and inter-system signal verification based on Architecture ECU Synoptic inputs.
- Personally prepare and own the Architecture ECU Synoptic: identify change content, assess EE impact of new feature additions, and evaluate homologation impact for export-market variants.
- Plan EE architecture deliverables aligned to vehicle program milestones, coordinating across product planning, system pilots, and ECU owners.
- Study and validate Architecture Forms defining EE feature flows (e.g., Remote Engine Start, Idle Stop & Start) and conduct inter-system signal validation with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Workstream 3: ECU Configuration, Lab Car & Vehicle Build Validation – Lead a stakeholder team coordinating all system pilots and ECU owners to prepare part numbers for configuration, calibration, and software file delivery to lab cars and plant trial builds.
- Plan and lead lab car validation activities: parts procurement, test case preparation, validation execution, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, and report circulation to resolve build issues.
- Manage vehicle builds with vehicle integrators, perform vehicle-level validation, resolve build concerns, and lead root cause analysis to closure.
- Coordinate with suppliers for new ECU integration into existing EE architecture and technically validate cost-reduction proposals against quality and functional requirements.
- Architecture Research & Innovation – Lead competitor EE feature benchmarking studies to identify architecture gaps and drive improvement roadmaps.
- Develop and validate vehicle-level Proof of Concepts (POC) for new EE feature integration prior to project adoption.
- Drive EE architecture evolution to meet future regulatory requirements and upcoming feature roadmaps.
- Support system pilots and ECU owners for new ECU integration and validation within existing EE architecture.
- Achieved 40% cost reduction through optimised ECU integration strategy and improved component utilisation.
- Reduced validation cycle time by 15% via HIL (dSPACE) workflow automation and test plan refinement.
- Delivered EE architecture upgrades for new regulatory compliance with minimal redesign impact across programs.
- Successfully led EE architecture development for EV platform, covering full vehicle wiring, ECU network, and build validation.
