As a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist, I review medical records to ensure accuracy and integrity. Write compliant queries when clarification is needed. I work closely with physicians and other healthcare teams including coding, quality, mortality and PSI teams to improve documentation quality, support regulatory compliance, optimize coding accuracy and reimbursement.
I also mentor new CDI specialists and participate in quality review initiatives and special projects. Attend ACDIS webinar and review coding clinics periodically to maintain uptodate knowledge in Healthcare regulations and revenue cycle. Daily workflow includes working with EPIC, IODINE.3M encoder, EMAR etc.
Familiar with MS-DRG, AP-DRG, Procedure and diagnosis codes, MCC, CC, HCC, SOI, ROM and reimbursement impacts.
