Currently working as a senior blood bank technician with FDA approval for blood bank operations.
- To take detailed account of the blood bags (i.e. to take stock); every day morning
- To cross match the blood for the Out Patient Department's patients and In Patient department's (ward's) patients
- To check the blood group of the patient
- To participate in blood donation camp and carry various activities in relation to it and hospital voluntary blood donors; including measuring their haemoglobin, phlebotomy/ bleeding of donors etc
- To attain training in First Aid in case of adverse donor reaction
- To perform various blood test of the blood bags. [TTD/ TTI (Transfusion transmitted disease/ infection) test viz. ELISA for detection of HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, VDRL for Syphilis, Test for malaria) or any other tests as indicated e.g. direct and indirect Coombs test, Du test, etc effectively
- To work up post blood transfusion adverse reaction
- To label the blood bags once complete testing of the blood is done
- To take care that the collected blood is safe and in good condition i.e. proper storage
- To prepare reports of SBTC, MDACS as per their rules
- To maintain all records (to fill all registers)
- FDA/ CDSCO guidelines, SBTC/ NBTC guidelines, MDACS/ NACO guidelines, etc)
- To have knowledge about quality control in blood banking
- To do all the work properly and efficiently, that are entrusted by the senior officers

- To have knowledge of rules and regulation of Blood bank (Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945, FDA/ CDSCO guidelines, SBTC/ NBTC guidelines, MDACS/ NACO guidelines, etc)
- To have knowledge about quality control in blood banking
