Reshma Asokan

I have been working as an ER physician for over 4 years and I strive to achieve quality care for the patients visiting the ER. Currently I am involved in the ED supervision by optimising patient flow, providing acute care, resuscitation, pain management, establishing differential diagnosis and treatment. Apart from the clinical management of patients, my work also includes achieving superior hospital administrative standards by enforcing policies, ensuring compliance with protocols, conducting clinical audits and implementing changes, simultaneously paying close attention to maintaining workplace harmony.

I am currently working towards establishing academic development of EM in my hospital with residency education, clinical quality assurance, and research.

• Involved in patient management starting from triaging to primary assessment, history taking, examination, treatment and disposal of patient in this 1000 bedded prestigious institute. 
• Resuscitation of priority 1 patients of both trauma and medical/surgical background and their further evaluation under supervision.
• Initial stabilisation of paediatric and gynaecological emergencies. 
• Patient care and management in yellow and green area. Constant monitoring and recording of medical data. 
• Coordination of multi-disciplinary management, final admission or discharge of patients from hospital in collaboration with other departments. 
• Attend clinical audits and mortality meet for clinical excellence. 
• Carry out medical research, write up medical cases reports for journal publication and attend medical conferences for knowledge development.
