PERFOMANCE ISSUES AND MAKING UPDATES TO ACHIEVE OPTIMAL PERFOMANCE
● Perform diagnostic tests for routine maintenance procedures and determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems
● Repair malfunctioning components, retrofit engines, change brakes, adjust steering systems,
replace worn-out parts and change hydraulic fluids.
● Truck mechanics routinely use computerized equipment along with lathes, welding torches,
pneumatic wrenches, hydraulic jacks, screwdrivers, pliers, mallets and precision gauges
● Test drive trucks before and after repairs
● Detect mechanical and electrical faults by using instruments that check charging and starting circuitry, batteries, ignition and ignition timing, fuel injection systems and speed control, cylinder compression, engine condition, braking efficiency, and wheel balance and alignment
● Repair and maintain the hydraulic components of diesel engines that are used to power attachments
● Use arch welding, hand fitting or machining processes to replace or repair faulty parts
