• Coordinate with all departments to develop and maintain HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) and Aspect-Impact Analysis in compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Monitor and inspect all fire safety systems, including fire pump rooms, fire extinguishers, suppression systems, fire panels, hydrants, hose reels, sprinklers, and ambulance readiness.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with applicable legal and environmental regulations.
• Submit Annual Return Forms 4 & 5 to the Pollution Control Board as per statutory requirements.
• Oversee statutory testing of dangerous machinery, including half-yearly inspections of press machines, pressure vessels, and pipelines, and annual testing of lifting tools and tackles.
• Conduct scheduled monthly EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) meetings, safety committee meetings, internal safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Organize and promote employee participation in Environment Day, National Safety Week, and Fire Service Week celebrations.
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures, ensuring regular review, communication, and compliance across all levels of the organization.
• Lead and document fire drills, mock drills, and ensure proper functioning and reporting of fire alarm systems.
• Conduct routine safety patrols across all sections as per defined schedules.
• Monitor the operation of ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) and STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) to ensure smooth and compliant functioning.
• Perform safety inspections of newly installed machinery, report observations, and follow up with concerned departments for timely closure.
• Identify and assess hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions; capture near-miss incidents and ensure effective follow-up and closure.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases, conduct root cause analysis, and prepare severity and corrective action reports.
• Identify safety lapses, develop corrective action plans, and ensure timely implementation and monitoring.
