- Effective safety assurance and technical safety and ensuring Safety Management
- Performance monitoring of sites in the zone
- Plan and organize safety campaigns and initiatives across the zone
- Learning and development of site teams
- Conducting Safety Audits and Inspections
- Carry out Life Saving Rule excellence audits for project, O&M, facilities and other sites
- Carry out office safety inspections for offices and stores
- Carry out rolling mills safety inspections
- Coordinate during external/internal audits
- Escalate Inspection and audit findings at appropriate levels for follow ups and closure
- Provide safety induction training
- Carry out regular site audits and evaluate their performance evaluation & communicate all concerned department
- Plan and conduct HSE forums and performance reviews
- Conduct monthly Departmental safety meetings to evaluate safety performance of the sites
- Conduct site engineer mentoring sessions on monthly basis
- Conduct Contractor safety forums on monthly basis
- Conduct safety awareness sessions for front line staff to ensure proper HSE management at site
- Safety Audits: To coordinate for conducting Internal Audit & External safety audits
- Accident Investigation & Reporting: Verification of accidents, Conduct investigation & Discussion, recommendation and implementation
- Safety Trainings: Internal (Onsite & in house) Training Program, Organize & impart training as per need of plant
- Statutory Compliance: Identify all safety related rules and regulation, Make and update the Legal Register
- Emergency Preparedness
- Conduct regular Loss prevention audits and develop an action plan for its implementation
- Evaluate the fire load and provide adequate protection. Conduct periodical surveys and emphasize for fire risk elimination
- Develop and implement a system to avoid fire risk [Hot work permit system]
- Protect fire risk by providing suitable fire protection installations and equipment
- To replace old/outdated equipment by latest ones
- Assessment of the new projects from Fire hazard point of view
- Recommending suitable fire protection measures
- To review & implement new for fire emergency evacuation plan
- To schedule and provide onsite & in house First Aid Fire Fighting training to the employees
- To conduct fire training & fire mock drill for fire fighters
- To plan & coordinate for emergency rescue training for rescue team
- Provide regular SCBA training to the fire fighters
- Maintenance & Readiness
- Responds to emergency fire and hazardous material alarms
- Ensure the readiness of emergency equipments
- Lays hose lines, operates nozzles, pumps and hydrants; utilizes fire extinguishers and performs other actions to suppress fire
- Participates in drills and training evolutions as directed
- Drives and operates fire apparatus according to procedures as outlined in Fire Department
- Participates in daily physical training
- Performs related duties as required
