About

Climate risk and sustainability professional with 9+ years across consulting and financial services. Currently responsible for Net Zero and climate risk analytics for Deutsche Bank’s ~€300bn global lending portfolio, integrating climate considerations into risk appetite and credit decisions. Previously delivered 10+ climate and sustainability engagements at PwC across corporates, governments and development institutions.

Experience

Assistant Vice President, Climate Risk at Deutsche Bank (2022-06 – Present)

  • Owned Net Zero and climate risk analytics for Deutsche Bank’s ~€300bn global lending portfolio across 8 carbon-intensive sectors, monitoring financed emissions and portfolio alignment against formal risk-appetite thresholds; Net Zero performance is linked to Management Board compensation.
  • Analysed Net Zero performance and carbon-budget utilisation across Group and business-unit portfolios, explaining movements and threshold implications to senior stakeholders; awarded 2 quarterly Spotlight Awards and a High-Performing Team Award.
  • Advise Front Office and deal teams on climate risk for individual transactions in Net Zero target sectors, running what-if analyses against sector-specific intensity thresholds; potential breaches are escalated to the Net Zero forum for review
  • Co-developed a forward-looking transition methodology, projecting clients’ 2030 emissions intensity from stated 2050 commitments and using RAG classification to assess alignment against the Bank’s interim sector targets.
  • Stepped up to lead a resource-constrained 2-person team through an extended period of manager absence - planning workloads, coaching team members through technical blockers, and negotiating stakeholder expectations to sustain delivery without compromising quality.
  • Built lightweight automation across climate analytics and reporting workflows to reduce repetitive manual effort and strengthen data controls and auditability; worked with IT team to define business requirements and guide the migration of climate reporting from a tactical solution to a strategic platform,
  • Led climate data and methodology initiatives spanning external data-provider evaluation including end-to-end vendor selection for CRE transition risk data and validating vendor’s physical risk data.

Senior Consultant, Climate Change & Sustainability at PwC (2019-05 – 2022-05)

  • Delivered 10+ climate and sustainability consulting engagements for corporates, governments and development institutions across climate risk, net zero, resilience, carbon markets and sustainability strategy.
  • Assessed climate change risks to health for Bhutan’s National Adaptation Plan (UNDP) using the IPCC AR5 framework - published, informing national adaptation planning.
  • Built a TCFD-based climate-risk assessment framework for a ~USD 2bn private equity firm, engaging ESG heads and C-suite leadership across 15+ portfolio companies to assess sector, operational and supply-chain risks and enable comparative climate-risk assessment across the investment portfolio.
  • Developed the PE firm’s climate policy supporting its UN PRI journey and Climate Resilience Roadmaps across 10 sectors, and built an end-to-end Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG accounting framework (operational emissions) supporting external assurance and carbon-neutrality certification.
  • Supported a major metals & mining company’s Net Zero programme, contributing to a CDP rating improvement from C to B- and climate capability-building across 10+ business units.
  • Delivered climate-policy engagements spanning Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, carbon pricing and climate adaptation, including support to India’s negotiating team and assignments for GIZ and the World Bank.
