• Disaster Recovery (DR) Specialist: Independently designed and deployed 8+ Disaster Recovery (DR) sites using Oracle Data Guard, orchestrated quarterly DR drills and managed critical production failovers, including post-incident environment reinstantiation.
• RMAN Backups: Guaranteed 100% recoverability by performing monthly RMAN restoration drills with Point-in-Time Recovery(PITR); managed robust backup policies and validated data integrity under strict RPO/RTO requirements.
• Patching and Security: Regularly updated and patched (PSU/RU) both the database and Grid infrastructure for production and test systems to keep them secure.
• Data Refresh: Used data Pump (expdp/ Impdp) to refresh test databases with fresh data from production so the developers had the right data to work with.
• Database security: Implemented TDE (Transparent Data Encryption) to protect data at rest. Set up Oracle Database Vault to control who can see sensitive data, ensuring even powerful users (like admin) have restricted access where necessary.
• Performance Tuning: Actively monitored and tuned database performance using AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports. Identified slow running queries and optimized them using Explain plan and SQL Tuning Advisor to reduce CPU usage and improve response times.
