Sonal Shubham

I am Sonal Shubham, a research scholar at the Delhi School of Social Work, University of Delhi. I did my post-graduation in Social work from the same college. Currently, I am working with the American India Foundation as Consultant, handling projects in STEM Learning. Before this, I worked with Vaagdhara, a Rajasthan-based NGO as a Program Advocacy Officer. I was involved with research and documentation, preparation of policy briefs, and networking with different Government Stakeholders.

I am Sonal Shubham, a research scholar at Delhi School of Social Work, University of Delhi. I did my postgraduation in Social work from the same college. I had completed my course with first division. Currently I am working with American India Foundation as Project Coordinator, handling projects in STEM Learning.

Before this, I was working with Vaagdhara, a Rajasthan based NGO as Program Advocacy Officer. I was involved with research and documentation, preparation of policy briefs and networking with different Government Stakeholders. Earlier, I was working with Vedanta Limited as a CSR officer trainee.

I did my graduation from Kirorimal college, Delhi University in Life Sciences but decided to change my stream to social work. During my Graduation, I was working as a Project Manager in an NGO named Umeed - A drop of Hope. This was the time when I developed an inclination toward Social Work.

During my two years of MSW course, I did my fieldwork in Nai Disha, an NGO working with the underprivileged children of the Kishangarh community in Delhi and CSR department of TATA Power - DDL. I had a lot of exposure to the ground reality during the two years of my fieldwork. I did my Summer internship with the CSR department of CLP, India where I did the Needs Assessment and Resource Mapping of 5 project villages that came under the CSR purview of the company.

I also did research on Transgender and wrote a thesis on the topic " Being a Transgender: Locating Identity, Support, Challenges, and Happiness".

I am a post-graduate in Social Work. Also, pursuing Ph.D. in Social Work from Delhi University.
