About

I am Sreejan Sarkar, a legal professional with over 3.5 years of work experience in practice areas like real estate, urban development, construction and infrastructural laws and regulations. I have completed my BA LLB (Hons.) and LLM from WBNUJS, Kolkata with specification in core subject areas in Corporate and Commercial laws with special focus on RERA, Land Laws, Urban Development and related subjects.

Even though I have only 3.5 year of experience, I think I have gained strong legal and business acumen to take up more complex and challenging roles. I am eager and look forward to working in a more fast paced, dynamic environment wherein I will able to work more closely on high-stake commercial deals and assist in contracts, risk structuring, legal due diligence, compliance, advisory and liaisoning. I will also able to learn and get guidance and mentorship from seniors and leadership at the organization and which will help me immensely in my personal and professional growth.

Experience

Assisted in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, agreements, MoUs with the government, real estate developers, vendors, service providers.
Represented the company as a major stakeholder of the real estate industry in policy discussions, committee meetings and other government interactions to propose improvement and suggestions for the industry.
Liaise with the government departments, regulators, law firms and other industry bodies for proposals and suggestions. I have connected and dealt with almost all regulatory authorities relevant to the real estate industry like UDMA, L&LR, Fire Dept., KMC, NKDA, AAI, KMDA, WBPCB, Environment, Housing, WBRERA and other local corporations and plan sanctioning authorities.
I have connected with architects, consultants and almost all leading developers in Kolkata to provide inputs and propose suggestions to policy decisions and key government rules, regulations impacting the real estate industry as a whole.
I have sound knowledge of Building Rules, RERA, Companies Act, Land laws and other local laws and have provided advisory support and legal advice to member developers to ensure compliance with applicable local laws and regulations.
