About

Assist in adult and pediatric cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) procedures under the supervision of senior perfusionists.
Perform CPB circuit setup, priming, de-airing, and assist in the initiation, maintenance, and termination of cardiopulmonary bypass.
Assist in IABP, VA-ECMO and VV-ECMO initiation, monitoring, troubleshooting, weaning, and oxygenator change-out procedures.
Monitor ACT, arterial blood gases (ABG), hematocrit, temperature, arterial pressure, pump flow, and other perfusion parameters.
Attend heart and lung transplant procedures, assisting the perfusion team during intraoperative extracorporeal circulatory support and transplant workflow.
Participate in donor organ retrieval procedures and support transplant teams during multi-organ procurement.
Gain hands-on exposure to Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) systems, with basic knowledge of Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs), including patient monitoring, device parameters, and clinical management under senior supervision.
Prepare, inspect, and maintain perfusion equipment according to institutional protocols.
Maintain accurate perfusion records and assist during emergency cardiac surgery and mechanical circulatory support cases.
