• Owned end-to-end migration of 4 latency-sensitive UPI payment APIs from Java to Rust — REST endpoints, DAO/repository layers, and business logic — for services backing UPI flows that process millions of daily transactions; benchmarked a 20% P95 latency reduction under sustained load testing ahead of production rollout.
• Implemented mutual TLS with certificate validation and encrypted payloads for a real-time exchange-rate API integrating an external data provider, meeting NPCI compliance requirements for cross-service communication.
• Eliminated lock contention in hot paths by restructuring shared-state ownership to direct borrows — removing atomic ref-counting overhead and improving throughput under concurrent load; covered by unit and integration tests at 85%+ coverage wired into CI/CD pipelines.
• Built a Rust double-spending protection service for NPCI's Java CBDC platform, integrated over FFI/JNI as a C-compatible binary — chose a deliberately synchronous architecture (no Tokio) to avoid async runtime conflicts inside the JVM process.
• Used Diesel with MariaDB for blocking database access with versioned schema migrations and type-safe queries; exposed CRUD methods across the FFI boundary with custom error types unifying DB, serde, JNI, and domain failures into a single hierarchy.
