To implement and establish EHS systems and achieve ZERO harm across Project. Responsible for overall EHS aspects of the organization, lead as overall EHS at site.
- Daily Supervision at shop floor, factory premises area for the finding of unsafe condition.
- Conducts HSE presentations and training to employees as required.
- Ensure that daily toolbox meetings are conducted by respective line managers and supervisors.
- Ensuring Permit to Work System is followed while working on site and requirements of permits are fulfilled.
- Monitor fire systems: Comply standards; maintain major & first-aid firefighting operation. Impart fire training and Maintenance plan.
- Conducted monthly fire alarm, fire extinguisher, ambulance and it recorded in hard copy. Organizing the fire drill and fire refresher training for staff and note this information in the fire training logbook.
- To improve company emergency procedures and act as the Board's emergency on-site coordinator and to assist emergency preparedness team or emergency plan.
- Conduct the Fire fighter, first aiders, sec. safety inspector's awareness session for the working on hazards risk and aspect impact minimizing purpose.
- Ensure that the relevant Safety Instructions, Signs & Symbols, Emergency evacuation procedure with emergency contact numbers, Updated HSE Statistic board, Notice Boards Etc., are displayed on the site.
- Lifting tools & tackles testing, Pressure vessel, Pipeline testing and shot blasting Machine testing by competent person (FORM 11 & FORM 13).
- Conduct the EHS technical training and awareness training programs for the company & Conductors persons by internal, external trainers.
- Conduct safety inspections of workshop equipment and tools, scaffolding, lifting gear, process machinery, vehicles, electrical board or panel, fire hydrant system, fire-extinguisher, PPE, etc.
- Accountable for the supervision of the administrator and record keeper on area specific HSE audits, inspections, reports, certifications, permits, etc.
- Asst. Hazardous Waste Management (HWM), Hazard Identification and risk assessments, Environmental Aspect & Impact Study and job safety analysis etc.
- Environmental Monitoring periodically under the MPCB consent limits and maintain the monitoring data.
- To ensure every chemical store as per MSDS and chemical sustainability. Conduct training of chemical handling, spill responses etc. to total control chemical exposure and health hazard.
- Monitoring STP plant operation
- To investigate and report on all serious/critical personal injury and accidents occurring with workers, staff and visitors to the appropriate senior official, and to assist in the investigation of all accidents /incidents that result in substantial harm to health and control accident, injury.
- Conducting EHS committee meeting and advising management on EHS data
- Organize the Motivational Activities by Celebrating of National Safety week, Environment Day, Engineering Day programs &Tree plantation, Blood donation, De-addiction session under CSR activity.
- Arrange Medical check-up and record health report. To arrange for Occupational Health and environment testing or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants to reduce chemical exposure and pollutant in workplace.
- Ensure compliance with Factories Act 1948, OSHA, and ISO standards specific to manufacturing.
- Maintain safe operating procedures (SOPs) for assembly lines, welding, sheet metal.
- Monitor storage and handling of flammable refrigerants and chemicals like paints, adhesives, and cleaning agents.
- Ensure fire extinguishers, hydrant systems, and gas leak detectors are installed and maintained.
- Conduct hot work permits for welding, cutting, or brazing.
- Inspect and verify machine guarding, interlocks, and emergency stops on press machines, conveyors, and testing equipment.
- Ensure earthing, insulation, and lockout-tag out (LOTO) procedures are followed.
- Prevent risks of short circuits, arc flashes, and static discharge in testing rooms.
- Monitor noise, vibration, temperature, and lighting in production halls.
- Implement ergonomics programs to reduce repetitive strain injuries during assembly line work.
- Ensure workers use PPE (gloves, safety shoes, goggles, ear protection, and masks).
- Conduct safety induction training for new employees.
- Organize regular toolbox talks on refrigerant safety, electrical safety, and fire response.
- Run mock drills for fire, chemical spill, and evacuation scenarios.
- Record and investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts/conditions.
- Suggest and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain safety documentation (audits, inspection checklists, MSDS, permits).
- Coordinate with Pollution Control Board (PCB) and regulatory agencies for waste disposal and gas emissions.
- Prepare and present monthly safety reports to management.
- Promote 5S, Kaizen and safety practices.
- Recommend automation or engineering controls to reduce human error.
- Monitor KPI metrics (accident frequency rate, near-miss reporting, training hours).
