Design Engineer at Sumitek Natraj (2025-10 – Present)
Engineering core systems of a 700-ton Injection Molding Machine (IMM), including screw & barrel assemblies, injection unit structures, and clamping system components.
- Designing an 850-ton toggle clamping mechanism — increased tie bar spacing and resized tie bar diameter to meet tonnage requirements, and widened toggle stroke opening for greater daylight.
- Developing a mould rotary mechanism through both reverse engineering of existing systems and original in-house design.
- Performed injection pressure and cylinder force calculations for the injection unit to validate design parameters against performance targets.
- Conducted tie bar elongation and platen deflection analysis to verify structural integrity under full clamping load.
- Ran static structural analysis on the locking base frame of the 700-ton IMM in SolidWorks Simulation, confirming load distribution and stiffness targets.
- Engineered ejector system assemblies (plates, rods, hydraulic integration) and hydraulic manifolds with optimized valve logic and flow paths.
- Designed the base frame structure for load distribution, stiffness, and manufacturability, and routed hydraulic hoses for safety, bend-radius compliance, and service access.
- Applied DFMA principles throughout and produced fully toleranced 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T.
Design Engineer at Cypet Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (2024-11 – 2025)
- Built 3D models and layouts for industrial stairs, platforms, and routing systems, and produced detailed 2D drawings with GD&T and manufacturing specifications.
- Designed EOAT, injection tooling, and blow mold components, translating concepts into fabrication-ready structures.
- Owned BOM generation and upkeep across projects, and coordinated with vendors on quotations, technical reviews, and cost optimization.
Junior Design Engineer at Beth Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. (2023-05 – 2024-07)
- Designed sheet metal components and assemblies in SolidWorks and converted 3D models into production-ready 2D drawings.
- Applied DFMA principles to improve manufacturability and revised designs based on shop-floor manufacturing feedback.
