Cloud & Backend Engineer – Python (GCP)

Project description We are looking for a strong Python Developer with database expertise to join a banking project. The role focuses on backend development, infrastructure as code, and cloud-based solutions within a regulated financial environment. The ideal candidate combines hands-on development skills with solid database knowledge and understands the quality, security, and compliance standards required in enterprise banking systems.

Responsibilities: Design and develop backend services using Python Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform Develop and operate cloud-native solutions on GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Work with relational databases (design, optimization, query tuning) Implement secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation processes Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders Ensure compliance with banking security and regulatory standards Support production systems and participate in incident analysis when needed Mandatory Skills Description: Strong experience with Python (backend development, APIs, services) Hands-on experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) Practical experience with GCP Solid understanding of database systems and data modeling Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments Understanding of secure coding practices Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines Nice-to-Have Skills Description: Advanced SQL skills (query optimization, performance tuning) Experience with API-based Customer Search services or similar backend systems Knowledge of RESTful API design principles Experience with monitoring/logging tools Experience in banking or financial services domain German language skills (beneficial but not mandatory) German Language Languages: English: B2 Work Modality: once per week in our office in Turin We offer numerous benefits such as: ⏰ Flexible work schedule Great company culture and friendly environment Work within a fast-moving, exciting, and challenging environment Talent development ecosystem Luxoft Training Center services with ad-hoc leadership and technical programs Knowledge sharing in professional communities Meetings for knowledge sharing, celebrations, and brainstorming: your ideas count!
