What will you help us create?OverviewRole: As a Hardware Development Engineer in our team, you will be responsible for supporting product development functions across design, validation and manufacturing. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced startup-like environment and want to invent the future. You will wear many hats working on system design down to quick-turn prototypes, manufacturing production processes, design validation and debug.
You will work at the integrated circuit and product systems level and drive the quality bar to ensure the products we ship are bug free. To be successful you need to be highly motivated, understand how to solve problems and dive deep while delivering to the highest standards. You will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of product electrical design with expertise in systems integration, the desire to learn from new challenges, and the problem-solving and communication skills to work within a highly interactive and experienced team.ResponsibilitiesLead multiple electrical design and validation on multiple products across Amazon device portfolioResearch test/validation technologies and methodologies across factory and lab environmentDevelop and execute detailed electrical validation test plans to ensure functional and parametric conformanceDrive debug and root cause of hardware design issues, qualifying trade-offs and user impactServe as the in-region technical liaison between US-based design teams and China-based manufacturing partnersProvide on-site electrical engineering support at manufacturing facilities in ChinaDrive hardware bring-up, debug, and failure analysis at manufacturing sitesSupport Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and manufacturing process optimizationOwn and resolve electrical design issues across xVT phases, while driving validation status reporting across milestone gatesLeverage AI tools and/or write scripts where feasible to automate for efficiencySupport positive team interactions to accomplish program objectivesCoach or mentor junior electrical engineersBasic QualificationsBachelor\'s degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent3+ years of overall experience in design, validation and manufacturing experience in consumer electronicsExperience leading and working with contract manufacturers for all stages of product developmentExperience in Power Regulation (AC-DC/DC-DC) Design, including schematic, layout, design validation and debugStrong EE fundamentals and experience in failure analysis and troubleshooting skills in a laboratory environmentExperience in leading and driving electrical product development across schematic design, layout, assembly and design validationExperience with prototyping solutions and bench testing methodologyExperience in schematic entry, layout tools and design for manufacture-ability (familiarity with OrCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro tool flow is a plus)Knowledge of processor architecture, digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc.English and Mandarin language skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster\'s degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalentExpertise with power supply design and High and high-speed electrical signal characterizationExperience with Audio front end electrical design and validation using Audio PrecisionStrong depth in Memory Technology domains (eMMC, DRAM, etc.)Experience integrating RF technologies such as WIFI, BT, GPS, etc.Knowledge of Battery management Systems and experience with battery powered, wireless, embedded HW/SW consumer devicesAutomation experience (i.e. shell, Perl, Python, etc.)Strong communication and documentation skills and ability to operate autonomouslyComplete understanding of manufacturing process including DFM and DFT for consumer productsStrong interpersonal skills and capability to manage and drive various cross-functional team membersOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
